These are what I consider and call Shelfie Essentials.

How to find your noteworthy scent:

I. Build your own Quartet or pick one of our many curated ones. Here's an example. PS. It's the ultimate cure for pollution of any sort.

II. I'd take one day to wear one scent alone before layering it with another. Poll everyone you respect the first day, and then when you layer it on the second, poll those sample people and ask them what they think. But always go back to your gut instinct or you're always going to have that self-doubt. That's just my opinion, due to my experience.

How to layer our signature fine fragrances:

I. Personally, I like to spray behind the knees, dab on the inner wrists and behind my ears. We believe that expressing yourself through scent is a really cool way to show the world what mood you're in that day, very much like art.

II. Fragrance layering is the art of wearing several scented products at once or just one of our Royal Malady signature scents where not one is composed of less than 3-4 notes and 7-8 at most. It's an aromatic ritual that can be as simple or complex as you choose. One day that may mean combining a fragranced body wash and lotion - and another, indulging in multiple layers of scented lotion, perfume and fragrant oils.

III. What I love most about layering is the depth of intensity it adds, while helping my fragrance linger for longer (only if it's a Royal Malady scent of course - otherwise you're be reapplying all day or having to buy a separate primer all the time or carrying your perfume in your bag for touch-ups and you now how heavy good perfume is to tote around? Perfume and cologne are proven to last longer on well hydrated skin; the molecules of fragrance literally clinging to the moisture, enhancing your scent's lasting power.

IV. If you find that fragrance doesn't last on your skin, lack of moisture could well be the reason, alongside the quality and percentage of pure base oil. This is also why fragrance often lasts and smells differently on people with naturally oily or dry skin.

How to layer our handcrafted fragrances:

The greater the number of layers, the greater the intensity and longevity of your fragrance. While these are guidelines, there are no set rules, so experiment and enjoy the process.

    1. Choose complementary, contrasting or linear scents - whichever you are most naturally drawn to. My fave is the non-linear scents, but that's just me.
    2. Begin with your base layer - a scented body wash to enhance the layers that follow. For me, it's the one you'd wear alone no matter what.
    3. Prep skin with a moisturizing body lotion to keep it well hydrated and lock in your scent - this step isn't necessary with our primer.
    4. If adding multiple layers of perfume, spray the strongest first and top up with lighter scent(s) to avoid overpowering the more delicate notes
    5. Add aromatic accents on backs of knees, inner crease of elbow, a scarf or the ends of your hair.

PSS. I believe and it is my opinion that your signature fragrance is a deeply personal preference. Our scents were created with the intent to give you back your inner confidence while also reinforcing memories of the past that you hold dear (no wonder some folks keep the name of their favorite eau de toilettes under lock and key, and I called repression as the mofo problem in 2020 and you go in and try to help ppl from getting bullied and then you get bullied and that's so wrong, and calling out hypocrites and then getting passive aggressively bullied when it's so mofo obvious is annoying AF, not to mention cloyingly annoying and you don't deserve space on here but this girl's gotta rant to live).

On the other hand, as you embark on the new year, why not consider changing your scent to fit your new aspirations and resolutions? We’re tracking the latest scents released in 2023 here—all of which will surely inspire and, more importantly, make a positive first impression, expressing your mood and personality before you even utter a hello to whomever is in the room.

Also, if you’re of a certain age you likely knew an Avon lady whether that was your grandma or your neighbor. We are DEFINITELY not that nor are we in any way MARY KAY. Let's just get that straight. For starters.

In our distracted and increasingly digital world, physical engagement with scent offers a potent way to bring the misunderstood back to ourselves, and into the present moment, because conniving isn't this bad thing they're making us out to be.

When entering a home, we want to get rid of Bother, so two things may happen: if the smell is familiar, old memories will be evoked, possibly offering a sense of nostalgia (And I said out loud "I will always yearn" and "This is always gonna burn." And yet, if the smell is completely new, then new memories will be created, hence Royal Malady fine fragrances. In the same way, each piece of furniture is chosen to match and enhance the design of your home, and niche scents should be chosen to complement each room in your home to evoke emotions and create memorable moments I am dead-set (no pun intended) on capturing in each bottle I name, make and create with intent (and I said 'It's about love' from the start of 'This')This is always going to be something I remember, and no one's going to stop me from doing what I imagined I'd do if the day came for a change and if I keep saying it to myself it's because the sanity checks in life are legit wholesome. But knowing the foes and the people who are totally unaware of them, there ain't words for that right now, but I know one thing: posers gotta go.

Might I add:

Step into a world of pure indulgence with Royal Malady, the fragrance house that will leave you wanting more, because we considered it all and we got the upward nod right away & were the bravest in the land & want to find a way to laugh at it all again, because we know we got this one life, but we never got instructions as a Founder & all us that get performance-based, well you're not alone & we don't want you to be. (but we can't stand the thought and have to look at all these  sorry excuses of people and it's gross and we made this to counteract pretense b/c I always said "Annie Makes A Case Against Pretense' & more people oughta.

Our one-of-a-kind fine fragrances are the perfect way to add a touch of luxury to your daily routine. With every spray, our expensive, hard-to-source & rare notes combine in a way where the others memorize the ratio and this Founder innately just knows how to make it just right, because she cares about what her consumers think, to create a truly memorable effect & intended that way.

Our opulent aromas are perfect for any time of the day, whether you're headed out for a night on the town or simply want to add a touch of elegance to your everyday routine. More people should want to try the non-imposters don't you think?

Annie L. Jones (I can't front & real knows real & truth matters & Royal Malady ain't for fairies either)
